José Luis Herrero

José joined Cubico in 2023 as part of the Australian Leadership team, responsible for investment origination and execution activities in Australia.

Cubico Sustainable Investments is a leading developer, owner and long-term operator of global renewable energy projects. With operations in 9 countries (UK, Spain, Italy, Greece, Mexico, Uruguay, USA, Colombia and Australia), its portfolio includes onshore wind, solar photovoltaic, concentrated solar power, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and transmission line technologies, covering the entire value chain from development and construction to operation.

With over 17 years of experience in the renewable energy sector in Australia and internationally, José has held senior leadership roles, specialising in the commercial structuring and financing of greenfield projects. He has extensive experience in project finance, equity investments, offtake agreements, and M&A transactions, with a successful track record in bringing complex projects to financial close.

José holds a Dual Degree in Law and Business.
