
Malcolm Ballinger
Malcolm is a Chartered Professional Engineer and Technical Director at Amphora Energy, with over 24 years of experience across the energy, generation, and utility sectors. He brings a unique blend of operational, development and consulting expertise, having recently guided the electrical and network requirements for a 4.3 GW renewable and firming pipeline as Principal Electrical Engineer at a major gentailer, and over 4GW of firming pipeline with Amphora Energy.
His career spans a decade leading electrical engineering at the 1.2 GW Torrens Island Power Station, as well as direct construction and site supervision experience for major wind and BESS projects. With a background that includes consulting in Australia, the UK, and China—as well as early-career expertise in embedded software—Malcolm offers a holistic perspective on electrical plant design, construction, and asset management. He holds a First Class Honours degree from the University of Canterbury and maintains comprehensive professional accreditations, including CPEng, RPEQ, REPV, and NER.
