Dr. Audrius Baranauskas Head of innovation at Litgrid&Product manager at Energy cells

Audrius is currently Head of Innovation department at Litgrid, the Lithuanian TSO, as well as Product manager at Energy cells. The Republic of Lithuania has appointed Energy cells as the operator of the storage facilities in Lithuania.

With the technical background and 15 years of experience at Litgrid in various TSO activities, Audrius has expertise in power system control, short and long term grid planning, development and implementation of new transmission network element projects, and innovative technologies for transmission asset applications towards future CO2 neutral electrical power systems.

Audrius earned a PhD in 2014 with a thesis on “Model of power plants and energy storage systems control for wind power balancing”. He initiated an award-winning 1 MW pilot battery storage project in Litgrid, which paved the way for the 200 MW batteries operated by Energy cells.
