James Pirie

James’ experience in the energy sector commenced in 2001 working for the Basslink Development Board in the Tasmanian Department of Treasury.  James started with Hydro Tasmania in 2004 taking on the role of Basslink Project Director, managing Hydro Tasmania and the State’s rights and obligations relating to the construction and commissioning of Basslink.  James has since undertaken a number of senior management and commercial roles within Hydro Tasmania’s trading team including negotiating commercial arrangements with major industrial customers, and providing commercial leadership on Basslink matters for Hydro Tasmania. James is now the Program Director, Major Projects Strategy.
