Michael Frangos

Michael Frangos is the Chief Executive Officer of Indigenous Energy Australia, a renewable energy systems engineer, and an organisational transformation specialist who is passionate about doing infrastructure differently. For more than 15 years, Michael has focused on the critical role that decarbonisation can play in Closing the Gap, making him one of Australia’s leading experts at this intersection. He draws from all knowledge systems – particularly Indigenous Knowledge Systems – to continually improve how energy and infrastructure are conceived, delivered, and sustained. A prominent industry thought leader, Michael is regularly invited to speak at conferences and has published on topics including knowledge weaving, Indigenous water issues, and developing renewables On Country. He is deeply committed to creating a decarbonised and reconciled Australia, working alongside community, government, and private industry to deliver infrastructure whose benefits endure for generations.
