Rodrigo Arias is an Executive Director at global boutique corporate advisory firm, Pottinger. Rodrigo has over 15 years’ experience in investment banking (across ECM, DCM, M&A and capital raising) in Australia, UK, Spain and Mexico, focusing on M&A and capital raising for renewables, decarbonisation and cleantech businesses.
He is a leading renewable energy investment banker in Australia, having advised on project and platform-level M&A and financings for over 10GW of energy generation and storage assets. His experience includes advising:
- Birdwood Energy on the establishment of its distributed energy platform with Aware Super
- Green Peak Energy on its capital partnership with CBRE Investment Management
- Carbon capture technology business Calix Ltd on its spin-out and capital raise from US-based Carbon Direct Capital
- Fortescue Energy on various renewable energy investment opportunities
- A battery technology company on its international go-to-market strategy and capital raising process
- The founding shareholders of Elanora, an Australia-focussed offshore wind developer, on its formation
- AGP/AMPYR on various financing transactions relating to its behind-the-meter business
Prior to joining Pottinger, Rodrigo worked as an infrastructure investment banker for Citigroup and then Banorte in Mexico City.
