Salim Mazouz
Salim Mazouz has over two decades’ experience as a professional economist in the public, private and academic sectors with a strong focus on energy and climate change. Salim currently leads the Capacity Investment Scheme Branch in the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW). Prior to joining DCCEEW, Salim was Policy Director at the Energy Security Board, following over a decade as a consultant, including as Managing Director of the economic consultancy EcoPerspectives and as Associate Director at the energy market consulting firm McLennan Magasanik Associates. Prior to this, Salim served as a member of the Secretariat to the then Prime Minister’s Task Group on Emissions Trading and has held various positions in the Australian Public Service, including with the Productivity Commission, the Australian Greenhouse Office, and the former Department of the Environment.
